What will you do?

Name: Adam Writer

When I Joined the Movement: My father was diagnosed in the mid 70s, and I did read-a-thons for the Society as a kid. I was one of the top fundraisers.

Occupation: CPA, and stock and real estate investor.

Hobby: Astrophotography.

What movement means to me: Moving toward a cure and helping people.

One thing I’ve learned about MS that I want to tell you: I want to make sure that everybody knows it strikes people in the prime of their life. It can really be devastating for families, because that’s the time when you’re getting married and starting a life that you think is going to be normal, and it’ll throw you a curveball.

What I’ve done to Join the Movement: I chair the Rocky Mountain MS Center which my father co-founded. We run one of the world’s largest brain tissue banks, which the Society helps to fund. And I’m on a Bike MS team with a cousin who also has MS on his side of the family.

How fast I can change a tire: Between five and six seconds. But only the right rear tire. My friend was an Indy driver, and I joined his pit crew for a couple of seasons.

What I’m doing: Getting new riders to join our bike team.
