Name: Anthony Romero
Diagnosed: March 2003
Occupation: Firefighter/paramedic
Hobbies: Baseball, teaching community college EMT classes, being with my two-year-old
What movement means to me: It’s from your toes to your eyes. If I wasn’t able to move, I wouldn’t be able to hold my son.
One thing I’ve learned about living with MS that I want to tell you: Adapt. Don’t let it stop you.
What I’ve done to Join the Movement: I grew up with my mom having MS, so I’ve learned about the disease both as a family member and as a person with MS. With the help of my neurologist, I’m confident and I keep my head held high.
Favorite movies: Used to be Full Metal Jacket. Now, Dumbo and Bambi.
What I’m doing: I’ll probably be working. Another firefighter/paramedic has MS. He and I like to educate guys that don’t know about it.
