Name: Tahirah Falah
Diagnosed: 2003
Occupation: Homemaker. And I run a nonprofit called MS Mommies, Inc. that has an Internet radio show for moms with MS.
Hobbies: I write in my journal, and I read autobiographies. Right now I’m reading In an Instant by Lee and Bob Woodruff.
What movement means to me: My 15-month-old keeps me moving. Also, I’ve had to redefine myself. There was a process of mourning for the old me, and I’m beginning to create a new me.
One thing I’ve learned about MS that I want to tell you: Yesterday I couldn’t move my right arm. This morning I woke up feeling really good. I would have to get the craziest disease that there is!
What I’ve done to Join the Movement: Every day I get a new email from a mother living with MS. When people learn about my nonprofit, their first question is, “Are there that many?” There are.
What I did last summer: We went to Tunisia, where my husband is from. He hadn’t been home in 10 years. So I’ve got a crying baby in one hand and a crying husband in the other. We went to the beach every day. And I rode a camel!
What I’m doing: Telling my listeners about it.
