It is with heavy hearts that we say good bye to a wonderful Man and supporter of the National MS Society, Keystone Country Ride:
KAMIN HERMAN, JR.
On Monday, April 29, 2013, Herman "Chip" Kamin, Jr. Beloved husband of Eleanor "Robin" Buchen Kamin; father of Jason Adrian Kamin and Bryan Julian Kamin; predeceased by his parents, Herman and Marjorie S. "Margo" Kamin and his brothers and sisters, Saul I. Kamin, Harry W. Kamin, Dorothy Kamin Robin, Ralph Kamin and Ruth Kamin; survived by his nephews, Daniel G. Kamin and Robert S. Kamin. He was a principal at Kamin Realty. At age 62, he leaves a vast community of friends and acquaintances from his biking, ice climbing, mountaineering, skiing, and kite surfing activities. In 1987, Mr. Kamin completed the first successful ascent of a major Himalayan Peak by a team from the Explorer's Club of Pittsburgh, the only successful expedition from the U.S. that spring. He won two silver medals in 2005 in the National Senior Olympics in two biking events. Ten years ago he was a founding partner of the Selkirk Powder Co., a back country skiing operation at Schweitzer Mountain in Sandpoint, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to support the bike team, "Maggie's Marauders", that Mr. Kamin developed for the MS 150 ride. Checks can be sent to Sharon O'Keiff, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Western PA Chapter, 506 Third Avenue, Duncansville, PA 16635. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment will be private. www.freyvogenfuneralhome.com
