After you log into the site, MS Connection's landing page appears. This page can show community activities, featured members, groups, events, RSS feeds, and more.

Member Profile and Dashboard
From the community landing page, click the My Page link to go to your personal member dashboard. Then, you can upload, create, and manage content related to your profile.
Your member dashboard page is divided into sections which:
- Include all the settings and actions related to managing your profile.
- Provide access to friends, and social spaces.
- Show an aggregation of news feeds important to you.
- Include a series of tabs you can use to become further involved with the organization. They may include photos, find others, events, discussions, groups, and invite.
Click View Profile to go to a summary page.
You can also adjust your personal information, discussion settings, account settings, and login credentials through your profile.
Your Profile Image
Profile images are also known as avatars. Your profile image appears throughout MS Connection in places that you are active, such as in groups, events, and discussions. It is also visible on your member profile.
Upload, add, or change your profile image
Note: Profile images are also known as avatars.
- From your member profile, click Update your photo.The Profile Image screen appears.
- Click Change Image. The Upload Image screen appears.
- Click Choose File to browse and select the appropriate image from your computer.
- Click Upload File.
Note: The image is automatically resized to the required height and width (profile image dimensions are 175 by 214). Dimensions will not be lost, so you can upload a photo that is not square.
Restore your member profile image to the default
Note: Profile images are also known as avatars.
- From your member profile, click Update your photo. The Profile Image screen appears.
- Click Restore to Default Image to set your image back to the default image for MS Connection. A message appears.

Click OK to confirm. A confirmation message appears.
Note: You can click Cancel to retain the current image.
Access your member profile settings
- From your Member Dashboard, click View Profile. A summary page appears.
- Click Click here for change profile settings.Your My Settings page appears.
Change your member profile’s personal information
Other members can use Find Others to search based on the information that you enter. The information displays on the About tab of your member profile.
- From your Member Dashboard, click View Profile. A summary page appears.
- Click Click here for change profile settings. Your My Settings page appears.
- Click Personal Information. The Personal Information page appears.
- Edit your information.
- Click Save. A confirmation message appears.
Change your account settings
- From your Member Dashboard, click View Profile. A summary page appears.
- Click Click here for change profile settings. Your My Settings page appears.
- Change your settings.
- Click Save Changes. A confirmation message appears.

Privacy Settings: Public |
This setting enables your profile to be searchable and viewable by all users who access it. In order for someone to interact with a public profile (i.e. comment, send a message, etc.) they must first be your friend. |

Privacy Settings: Friend only |
Selecting Friend Only will enable your friends to view your complete profile as if it were a public profile. However, members with this setting will not appear in search. Activities will only appear to friends in their Friends’ Activities feed and not to the main Community Activity Feed. |

Email Notifications |
Select which emails you would like to receive when certain actions occur in the community. Emails will be sent to the email address that you registered to join the community with. |

Email Notifications: Profile Comments |
If selected, an email will be sent to you every time a user comments on your public profile. |
|
Email Notifications: Friend Requests |
If selected: an email will be sent to you every time a user sends you a friend request. |
|
Email Notifications: Inbox Messages |
If selected, an email will be sent to you every time a user sends you a private inbox message. |
|
Email Notifications: Replies to your discussion posts |
If selected, you receive an email when someone has replied to your discussion. |

Comments require approval |
Check this box to place all comments written on your profile by friends into the Comments section of your dashboard. You then have to go into the comments queue to approve or deny a comment in order for that comment to be posted on your profile. |

Email Digest |
Email Digests include updates on site wide activity pulled from the Community Activity Feed. |

Change your discussion settings through your member dashboard
If discussions are enabled, you can manage your personal settings for them. These settings include email notifications for replies to your posts, sort order for your discussions, subscription preferences, and an optional signature added at the bottom of your discussion posts.
- From your Member Dashboard, click View Profile. A summary page appears.
- Click Click here for change profile settings from the top of the right column on the page. The My Settings page appears.

Click Discussion Settings. The Edit Discussion Settings page appears.
- Change your settings.
- Click Save Changes. A confirmation message appears.
Update your member status

From your member dashboard, in What are you doing? enter your status.
Note: Status updates can be up to 500 characters. -
Click Update to publish your status to the Community website.
Note: To delete an update from your profile summary, click View Profile, then click the X .
View and manage profile comments
The Comment function enables you to moderate comments left on your profile.
- From your member profile, click Comments. The comments page appears.

You can view a list of comments and the date and time of posts. Hover your cursor over a comment to see comment options.
Note: If you selected Automatically Accept All Comments in your Account Settings, only Delete is visible.- To accept a comment click Accept. The comment is posted to your profile. A confirmation message appears.
- To deny a comment, click Deny. A message appears. Confirm the denial. A confirmation message appears.
- To delete comments, click Delete. A message appears. Confirm the deletion. A confirmation message appears.
Manage Your Calendar
From your member dashboard, click Manage Calendar to access your calendar. The calendar enables you to view events and when events happen. Days with events are highlighted.
Click on a date to see the events. Hover your cursor over an event to access options to go to the event’s profile page or to remove yourself from the event.
Member Announcement
Member announcements appear in each member’s profile page. This announcement is from MS Connection administrator and can provide valuable information and updates. If not all content is visible, use the arrows to scroll up and down.
Public Profile URL
Your site URL displays a friendly URL to your public profile. You can use this friendly URL to send other members and nonmembers a direct link to your profile. This URL is based on your community’s domain and your screen name. This URL cannot be changed through your dashboard after it is created. An administrator can edit your URL.
