Use the site wide search function to find members, groups, events and blogs within MS Connection.

  1. Enter keywords into the search bar and click Search. The results returned can include members, groups, events, blogs, and blog posts.
    Actions are available based on the search results. These can include add a member as a friend, join a group, or RSVP to an event.
  2. Use the tabs to sort the search results.
  3. To sort the results within the current tab, select an option from Sort by.
  4. Members can use the search bar to narrow their searches. Enter the keyword or member name and click search.

Search for friends

To build community, you need to search for and request existing members to be your friends. You should have one default friend after your initial log in. You can add friends in multiple ways:

  • Type a member’s name in the search bar and click Add to Friends.
  • View a member’s profile and click Become Friend.
  • On the Find Members page, you can click Add to Friends.

The Find Others page lists all the members in MS Connection with a public or private profile. Members with the Friend Only privacy setting are not listed. This page enables the ability to sort results, add new friends, and send messages.

Click on the member’s name or profile image to visit their profile page. If the member’s privacy settings allow, you can view their profile page.

Search for members

The Find Members page lists all the members in MS Connection with a public or private profile. Members with the “friend only” privacy setting are not shown.

  1. Use the site wide search function to find members, groups, events and blogs within MS Connection.
  2. Enter keywords into the search bar and click the arrow. The results returned can include members, groups, events, blogs, blog posts. Actions are available based on the search results. These can include add a member as a friend, join a group, or RSVP to an event.
  3. Use the tabs to sort the search results. Click Members.
  4. To sort the member results, select an option from Sort By.
  5. Members can use the search bar to narrow their searches. Enter the keyword or member name and click search. The returned results display the member profile image, name, and additional information about the member.
    • If the member is not a friend, you can click Add as a Friend to add them as a friend.
    • You can click Send a Message to send a member a message.
    • Click the member’s name or profile image to go to his profile page if the member’s privacy settings allow.

Search for blogs

  1. Enter keywords into the search bar and click the arrow. The results returned can include members, groups, events, blogs, blog posts.
    Note: Actions are available based on the search results. These can include add a member as a friend, join a group, or RSVP to an event.
  2. Use the tabs to sort the search results. Click Blogs.
  3. To sort the blog post results, select an option from Sort By.
    The Blogs page lists all the blog posts in MS Connection associated with a member, event or group. You can sort the results, and view the individual posts and number of comments made on the posts.
  4. Members can use the search bar to narrow their searches. Enter the keyword or member name and click search.
    The returned results display the member, social space, or blog profile photo, blog post title, date posted, number of comments made on the post, and a the first few lines of the post itself.

Search for groups

  1. Enter keywords into the search bar and click the arrow. The results returned can include members, groups, events, blogs, blog posts.
    Note: Actions are available based on the search results. These can include add a member as a friend, join a group, or RSVP to an event.
  2. Use the tabs to sort the search results. Click Groups.
    The Groups page lists all the groups in MS Connection with a public or private profile. Hidden groups are not returned here. From the results, you can sort the results, join a group, and view a group.
  3. To sort the groups' search results, select a Sort By option.
  4. Members can use the search bar to narrow their searches. Enter the keyword or member name and click search.
    • The returned results display the group profile image, title, and additional information about the group. From the results, a member can select Join this Group to join a group.
    • Click the group’s name or profile image to go to the group profile page if privacy settings allow.

Search for events

  1. Enter keywords into the search bar and click the arrow. The results returned can include members, groups, events, blogs, blog posts.
    Note: Actions are available based on the search results. These can include add a member as a friend, join a group, or RSVP to an event.
  2. Use the tabs to sort the search results. Click Events.
  3. To sort the events search results, select a Sort By option.
  4. Members can use the search bar to narrow their searches. Enter the keyword or member name and click search.
    The events page lists all the events in MS Connection with a public profile. Hidden groups are not returned. From this page, a you can sort by date, view an event, and attend an event.
    Tip: You can enter a date, or select a date from the calendar to search by date.
    The returned results display the event profile image, title, and additional information about the event.
  5. Click Attend this Event to attend the event. Click the event’s name or profile image to view the event profile page if privacy settings allow.
