David Baldacci, a former trial lawyer turned best-selling author, became involved with the National MS Society after his sister, author Sharon Baldacci was diagnosed with MS. Baldacci calls himself a "recovering lawyer" and has been a people-watcher and voracious reader since childhood.
Baldacci is very active in raising awareness about the MS cause and increasing volunteer participation. In the past he has taken part in the Books for a Better Life Awards, where he has presented the MS Champion Award of Courage. In April 2002 Baldacci was made a National MS Society ambassador.
He is the author of numerous novels, screen plays and short stories. His book Absolute Power was made into a feature film starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. Most recently he tours the country promoting his newest endeavor, the Freddy and the French Fries series for children.
