Writer from Southern California Chapter Wins Poetry Prize
The arts enrich our spirits and bring a slew of benefits from social connection to mental stimulation. Sometimes a pastime may lead to a new career or bring unexpected recognition.
Susan Keith's writing efforts brought her the 1st Prize in the Margaret Reid Poetry Contest. Her poem "Remembrance" was chosen from over 3,000 submissions.
Keith grew up in North Carolina, became a lawyer, and now lives in Los Angeles where she pursues her dream of writing. She's been getting recognition for her poetry and fiction through the Creative Writing Program at UCLA Extension and other venues.
She does more: Keith has been the number one fundraiser for the Southern California Chapter's Walk MS event several years in a row.
