Thank You National Sponsors of Walk MS®

April 10, 2018

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is pleased to welcome four Walk MS national sponsors this year: Sanofi Genzyme, Biogen, Genentech and Novartis. Through their partnership, these companies demonstrate a commitment to supporting communities across the country and enhancing the event experience for all Walk MS participants.

  • Sanofi Genzyme, the Premiere National Sponsor, has been supporting Walk MS and the MS community for many years and continues to sponsor the 'Living with MS Program' – recognizing Walk MS participants that live with an MS diagnosis. At Walk MS, Sanofi Genzyme will be leading an effort called "Pass It On." Walk MS participants can visit Sanofi Genzyme booths across the country to learn how to pass hope, inspiration and insights along to others living with MS.

"We're excited to once again have Sanofi Genzyme's support of Walk MS and the inspirational 'Living with MS' Program," said Kristin Gibbs, Vice President of Walk MS for the National MS Society."
  • Biogen has supported Walk MS local events for many years, and in 2018 they will be a national Walk MS sponsor for the first time. Participants can visit Biogen's booths across the country to learn more about their products and how they support the MS community.

"Biogen is a long-time supporter of Walk MS, and we are elated to welcome them as a national sponsor," said Gibbs. "Their desire to increase their commitment to the MS movement through this sponsorship will ensure we continue to provide an extraordinary experience at Walk MS."
  • Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, is returning for its third year as a national sponsor of Walk MS. Participants around the country can visit the Genentech booth to learn more about the company's commitment to MS. Genentech is also excited to debut GatherMS at booths in select cities to talk about managing the day-to-day unpredictability of MS. Participants can stop by the GatherMS booth to learn more.

"We applaud Genentech for ensuring that the voices of people with MS are heard through its national sponsorship of Walk MS," said Gibbs. "Genentech's generous event sponsorship supports our mission to help people with MS live their best lives."
  • Novartis is proud to continue to support the MS community as a national sponsor of Walk MS for the seventh consecutive year. Novartis will be participating in Walk MS events across the country where participants can learn more about its commitment to supporting the needs of people living with MS. Through continuous research, Novartis is exploring new therapies that have the potential to advance treatment options for relapsing and progressive forms of MS.

"The continued support from Novartis helps fund cutting-edge research and life-changing services to help people with MS," said Gibbs. "Novartis' commitment over the years truly shows that together we are stronger."

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million people worldwide.
