National Multiple Sclerosis Society
Every connection counts when it comes to increasing awareness and support of our cause.
Multiple sclerosis and the MS movement - everyone working to change lives as we drive toward a world free of MS- become better known each year. But more must be done to spread the word.
Every day, people living with MS do whatever it takes to move their lives forward despite the challenges. By sharing their stories, we help people better understand life with MS and become inspired to do whatever it takes to change the world for people living with MS. You can help ensure that more people understand what life with MS can be like and engage more people to do something about it, by following our media channels and sharing the stories of those living with MS, who move life forward every day and don't let MS define them. "Multiple sclerosis may be a part of who you are, but it doesn't define you as a person. You are who you are, and MS can't take that away from you." - Clarissa, diagnosed in 2006 Together we will do whatever it takes to change the world for people with MS.
World MS Day unites individuals and organizations from around the world to raise awareness and move us closer to a world free of MS. The theme for 2018 is ‘Bringing Us Closer’ and the theme is research. In 2009, the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) and its members initiated the first World MS Day. Together we have reached hundreds of thousands of people around the world, with a campaign focusing on a different theme each year. MSIF provides a toolkit of free resources to help everyone to take part in World MS Day. Anyone can use these tools, or make their own, to create positive change in the lives of more than 2.3 million people around the world. Visit worldmsday.org
Helping others better understand this complex and unpredictable disease is critical to fueling the progress that changes lives for people affected by MS and ultimately will end the disease forever.
You can view and share the videos below, and many other videos available on the Society’s YouTube channel, to help others better understand MS.
This video shows what happens in the central nervous system when a person has multiple sclerosis.
Creating awareness is something each of us is committed to -- and can act on today. By lending our individual voices, each and every one of us can lay the groundwork for the most viral MS awareness activity to date -- by simply sharing.
Multiple sclerosis destroys connections. It disconnects the mind from the body and people from each other. Defy this disease with the very thing it seeks to destroy: connections. Every Connection Counts: why do you connect? www.MSconnection.org
More than 20,000 researchers go to work to create a world free of MS every day. We can stop the disease in its tracks, restore what's been lost, and end this disease forever. Our commitment to people with MS isn't to just get it done, but to do it NOW.
