Administrative Assistant and Receptionist Volunteer

In this position, you will assist the Office Manager, Executive Assistant and Chapter President with various administrative duties, and interact with our members via phone and in-person.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls for the chapter, transfer phone calls accordingly, take messages
  • Office work - copying, filing, shredding, mail duties
  • Manage acknowledgement process - edit, print and mail thank you letters for all donors
  • Manage the Board of Trustees Wikipedia site - upload documents, format documents for proper upload and create folders
  • Merge and update Chapter President’s Outlook and LinkedIn contacts
  • Work with chapter computer systems, Altair and Convio (training provided)

Training

  • Participate and complete the Customer Service training for the National MS Society
  • Reception and computer system training provided by Office Manager and Executive Assistant

Skills

  • Customer service experience is helpful, but not necessary
  • Willingness to help where support is needed
  • Ability to use copier and printer
  • Computer knowledge desirable; excel, word and the ability to learn the chapters computer system

Physical Requirements

  • No lifting required

Length of Commitment

  • 6 months but flexible
  • Ideal hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday from 10am-2pm; we are flexible on days/hours
