We are looking for a student intern or a volunteer who wants to update his or her skills. The winning candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of people, learn how to recruit and manage large numbers of volunteers and assist with the execution of large events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director to create new volunteer opportunities for highly skilled individuals and identify volunteer leaders for office and event positions
  • Manage volunteers at the events
  • Manage the volunteer email account assisting volunteers with questions and information
  • Search out new sites for posting and post event/volunteer listings. Work with social media
  • Search out college sororities, fraternities, and clubs to recruit as volunteers for events
  • Organize and send confirmations to all event volunteers
  • The position could also include recruiting new sponsors or product donations for the events.
  • The candidate may also work with event participants assisting them with fundraising activities.

Training

  • Candidate will be trained on fundraising database via online classes offered by the Society and will work with chapter staff to get up to speed on all data-related needs.

Skills

  • Excel, Word, email, good phone etiquette, enthusiastic, and be able to speak and work well with many different personalities

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to reach and lift at least 35 pounds

Length of Commitment

  • One or two days a week in a four-hour block
  • Must be available on event weekends
