Now meeting virtually- Dance for MS is a free, weekly, virtual dance class for people with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other similar movement disorders. The class is held on Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:00 PM EST. The program is designed to help participants improve physical well-being, social interaction, creative expression, as well as targeted improvements in balance, strength, and mobility. The class involves both seated and optional standing movement activities that incorporate elements of modern dance, jazz, ballet, yoga, and social dance.
The class is accessible through Zoom and is best viewed from a larger screen like a computer, TV, or tablet, but a smart phone will work too. It is encouraged to take the class in a space where one can move safely, freely, and comfortably in a seated position, as well as standing.
This program is for your information and is not a National MS Society sponsored program. For more information, and to gain access to the Zoom class, please contact Whitney Wilson at wwilson@arts.ufl.edu or 352-260-5956.
