January 21, 2014

Atlanta, GA – The National MS Society, Georgia Chapter announces today, it is relocating its MS Life Center to the heart of Buckhead. The move will allow the chapter to better accommodate the unrestrictive needs of its members and the growth of the organization.

The National MS Society, GA Chapter has signed a 10 year lease at the One Atlanta Plaza high-rise, located at 950 East Paces Ferry Road NE, Suite 110 Atlanta, GA 30326. They will occupy the new space beginning February 3, 2014.

According to President, Roy Rangel, “It was time for the chapter to consider a prime location that people with MS can conveniently access. One Atlanta Plaza has a Marta stop inside of the building and is located in a vibrant part of the business district, reducing the commute for many volunteers, community partners and donors.”

The new MS Life Center has an abundance of natural light and design features that will convey a fun and collaborative environment. It also includes a multi-purpose conference center which features flexibility for classroom and theatre style seating for educational programs and seminars. “The new location positions the Georgia Chapter to further develop and align human, business and financial resources to achieve our vision of creating a word free of MS”, says Bill Holley, II, Chairman of the Board. “The new MS Life Center will be in close proximity to its Partners in Care, the Andrew C. Carlos MS Institute at Shepherd, MS Center of Atlanta, both located in Buckhead; and the MS Clinic at Emory.”

The National MS Society is proud to be an organization of choice for people with MS as well as its employees who dedicate their careers to addressing the wide range of challenges and interests of people living with MS. Currently; the GA chapter has ten fulltime staff members along with numerous interns, and volunteers. “The chapter is actively hiring and is constantly recruiting volunteers; "the new office will complement our efforts to expand and attract talented and passionate staff”, says Nicole Hill, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are leading to better understanding and moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million people worldwide.
