Rich Frachey

Rich Frachey first volunteered with the National MS Society, Greater Illinois Chapter at Dinner of Champions in 2011 and has been hooked ever since. Although he does not have a direct connection to MS, Rich was inspired to Join the Movement after experiencing the good humor, compassion, and dedication of attendees, volunteers, and staff at Dinner of Champions. Since volunteering at his first Society event, Rich has consistently been a friendly face at many National MS Society events, including MS Soirée, the Walk MS Tremendous 200 party, and the Chapter’s first-ever MuckFest MS.

A truly dedicated volunteer, Rich is always willing to help with whatever needs to be done.  He says, “By helping at these events, doing what is needed, and making those who attend feel welcomed and appreciated, I feel I’m helping to do my part to build on the trust the MS has with its supporters, while making the events they attend a very positive experience.” Aside from his hard-working attitude, Rich also recognizes the importance of fun and continually volunteers with a joyous spirit.

As much as Rich gives to the National MS Society, he also feels rewarded in return. Rich’s favorite memories from his volunteer efforts have involved meeting and interacting with the constituents, volunteers, and staff of the National MS Society. “In the roles I’ve played, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many attendees, and through casual conversations, learn so many interesting things about them and what they do.” In meeting those involved with the Society and feeling appreciated by the Chapter’s constituents and staff, Rich can see the positive impact of his work.
