Internship Responsibilities Include:

  • Research human services agencies throughout chapter service area.
  • Contact self-help group leaders and attend occasional meetings in the chapter area.
  • Assist Programs Department staff in the area of outreach to rural communities and underserved populations.
  • Research, compile, and obtain comprehensive information on community resources.
  • Identify outdated resource listings that need to be deleted from the database and record updated resource data accurately.
  • Complete financial assistance applications with members.
  • Respond to client requests for information and support, and follow-up with Newly Diagnosed and New to Chapter members.
  • Attend professional conferences and health fairs to bring awareness to MS and the National MS Society.
  • Other duties based on intern interest and agency priorities.
