How Hitting the Reply Button Made Me an MS Advocate

I had been living with multiple sclerosis (MS) for several years when I received an email from theNational Multiple Sclerosis Society asking me to contact my U.S. Congressman to discuss legislation relevant to MS.
At the time, I was feeling isolated, withdrawn, and disconnected because of my MS. I was not involved with any kind of MS advocacy work. But this request seemed like a simple task, took little effort, and, with a few keystrokes, was complete. In all honesty, I didn’t give it much thought; I simply hit “reply.”
