Kiara’s mother experienced many unexplained symptoms, which led to several doctor appointments and tests. Finally, she received a diagnosis: she had multiple sclerosis. The doctor’s diagnosis gave them a sense of peace.  “Although there is no user manual on how to cope with MS, I no longer dread the future,” says Kiara. “I strive to make my mother’s life easier, take more responsibility, and I try to maintain a positive attitude.”  Kiara is attending Texas A&M University to major in visualization.
