Naomi was living life to its fullest as an active member of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Ministry Leadership Council, Student Government Association, Mentorship Program and a pageant participant. She was also accomplishing life goals of traveling the world through study abroad programs. In the fall of 2014, her life changed when she experienced severe symptoms that caused numbness throughout the ride side of her body and ultimately led to her being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She spent the next several months fighting hard to regain her mobility and motor functioning. Her tenacity and determination to achieve goals came in handy, and she fully recovered her motor functioning skills. She is now back in school and again serving her university as a resident assistant. She hopes to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming a filmmaker after graduation next year. “MS does not have to stop me from living boldly, loving well and conquering one life goal at a time,” says Naomi. “Some dreams come true, and some just take a little bit longer. But MS doesn’t have to stop me.”
