For the second time in six years, Dr. Eugene May was inducted in to the National MS Society’s Volunteer Hall of Fame. While Dr. May was recognized for his contributions to Advocacy in 2009, he was more recently acknowledged for the exceptional care he provides to people with MS when he received the Health Professional Hall of Fame award.
Dr. May is a neuro-ophthalmologist at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute where he is co-founder and co-director of the MS Eye Clinic. Dr. May has been involved in multiple clinical research studies of optic neuritis and multiple sclerosis. He is also a member of the Greater Northwest Chapter Board of Trustees and heavily involved in advocacy efforts through attending the chapter’s State Action Day and the Public Policy Conference. Dr. May is a former chair and current member of the chapter’s Government Relations Committee and serves on the chapter’s Healthcare Advisory Committee. In addition to his local work, Dr. May serves on the National Medical Advisory Committee and is the Chair of the State Activism Advisory Council.
