I was most attracted to the field of MS because people with MS are young – they have most of their life ahead of them – providing an opportunity for me to make a vast difference in their lives.
My mentor Dr. Peter Calabresi encouraged me to apply for a Sylvia Lawry fellowship with the MS Society. This fellowship aims to train physicians who would be able to conduct clinical trials effectively, and ultimately help transition promising agents from the laboratory to patients.
I love working with people with MS, and am proud that my research may help improve their outlook.
In my time away from work I spend time with my wife who is training to be a rheumatologist. I am fond of travelling and love sampling exotic food in different parts of the world. I am also a voracious reader and a movie-buff. I also hope to write a collection of poetry someday!
