General deadlines for research grant applications

February 2023: The National MS Society remains committed to funding priority research. We have continued to support existing grant and fellowship commitments, and as we recover financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have begun a regular cadence of offering new funding opportunities.

The Society is planning to release annual opportunities for targeted research grants, investigator-initiated research grants, and are continuing our commitment to the MS research workforce by offering annual fellowships and early career awards. Our research funding is focused on advancing the Pathways to MS Cures Roadmap

The Roadmap includes three Pathways: STOPPING MS disease activity, RESTORING function by reversing damage and symptoms, and ENDING MS by preventing new cases. We expect that this and other upcoming funding opportunities will align with many of the themes that MS researchers are actively pursuing.

Coming up in May 2023, we will be opening up opportunities for investigator-initiated research grants that advance the Pathways to MS Cures Roadmap (with a late July deadline) and for fellowships and early career awards (with early August deadlines).
