Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 31, Lauren Russell has jumped into supporting the cause. Her first “episode” manifested with optic neuritis — the loss of vision in one eye — although she has since gained most of her sight back. She wants to educate people and bring awareness to the disease. Since publicly sharing her MS diagnosis, Lauren has become an empowered spokesperson for multiple sclerosis.
“I hope to turn my personal fight into public awareness to educate people about the warning signs, raise funds for more research and inspire positive change towards the disease,” she says.
Lauren Russell is often recognized from Showtime’s The Real L Word. Lauren is also a talented jewelry designer and creates edgy, chic accessories to support causes such as LGBT equality, voting rights and, most recently, MS.
