The following are resources that will answer your questions about Medicare prescription drug coverage:

  • The National MS Society is available to answer your questions about Medicare Part D, and address problems that might come up. Call 1-800-344-4867.
  • Medicare Interactive’s page about Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage offers comprehensive answers to questions about Medicare Part D.
  • The Medicare website’s Medicare Plan Finder allows users to identify and compare all prescription drug plans (PDPs) and Medicare Health plans (Medicare Advantage) serving their area, enroll in a plan, and check on their enrollment status. To speak to a Medicare representative, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
  • Your State Health Insurance Program, or SHIP, is staffed by people knowledgeable about Medicare, including Part D and Extra Help.  A directory of state SHIP programs is available through the National SHIP Resource Center.
  • The Medicare Rights Center (MRC) is the largest independent source of health care information and assistance in the United States for people with Medicare. Hotline counselors are available Monday through Friday at 1-800-333-4114. MRC can assist with applications to the Extra Help program and other programs for beneficiaries with lower incomes as well as Part D enrollment, appeals and more.
