Impact and relevance of adherence to interferons in multiple sclerosis

The intended audience for this activity is neurologists, neurology nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis. At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:

  • Assess patient and medication-related factors which may affect patient adherence and persistence to treatment for multiple sclerosis.
  • Incorporate management strategies that reduce relapses of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and improve adherence to interferon-beta therapies to minimize negative impacts on patients. 
  • Employ individualized patient management programs, education and support to improve adherence to multiple sclerosis therapy.
