The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a proud member of the International Progressive MS Alliance.

International Progressive MS Alliance

The National MS Society’s vision is a world free of MS. Our mission is: People affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.

We want to change the world for everyone affected by MS. While advances continued for those living with Relapsing Remitting MS (RRMS), those facing the progressive forms of the disease saw little improvement. We recognized the urgent need for treatments for Progressive MS—solutions for those who need them most.

The National MS Society partnered with five other MS organizations in 2012 to establish what is today known as the International Progressive MS Alliance which has advanced the development of treatment for Progressive MS by removing scientific and technological barriers.

Today, the Alliance includes members from 18 MS organizations of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK as well as the MS International Federation.

Thanks to this global effort, disease-modifying therapies have been approved for the treatment of Progressive MS and promising research is on the horizon, but we must continue to fuel progress.

International Progressive MS Alliance: More than Hope. Progress.
