Overview

This session focuses on reduce falls and fall hazards at home. After this session, you should be able to:
  • Explore possible hazards that might contribute to falls within and outside the home
  • Understand how simple changes can make your home environment safer
  • Identify specific changes you can make to your home environment to make it safer

Instructions

  1. Download course materials: Handout Week 5, Assessing Your Risk of Falls at Home, and Strength and Endurance.
  2. Watch the Staying Safe at Home lesson. 

  3. To optimize the benefits from this program, we encourage you to participate in the Building Better Balance Exercise Program at least 3-4 times per week.
