This session focuses on the fear of falling and tips to improve balance confidence. After this session, you should be able to do the following:
  • Explore the fears you have about falling
  • Recognize how these fears affect your behaviors in everyday living
  • Practice strategies that will help you shift your attitudes and behaviors caused by these fears in a way that will enhance your ability to reduce falls or deal with falling

Instructions

  1. Download course materials Handout Week 2, Functional Approach to Exercise, Risky Habits That Can Lead to Falls.
  2. Watch the Fears Fall Away lesson. 
To optimize the benefits from this program, we encourage you to participate in the Building Better Balance Exercise Program at least 3-4 times per week.
